Programme overview
Description
Gifted songwriters, iconic performers, multiple award-winners and long-time friends Elton John and Brandi Carlile (11x Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, performer and producer and 2x Emmy Award-winning composer and lyricist) come together to share the stage in a very special concert filmed at the legendary London Palladium.
Performing live debuts from their album Who Believes in Angels?, including Swing For The Fences, Little Richard’s Bible and You Before Me, the pair also duet on timeless classics from each of their illustrious careers, as well as treating the audience to a spell-binding cover of Patsy Cline’s Crazy. And if that’s not enough, Elton delivers a selection of his greatest hits – I’m Still Standing, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me and Your Song among others – as never heard before.
The duo are accompanied by a sensational live band featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, The Hanseroth Twins (guitar & bass), Andrew Watt (guitar, musical director and producer of Who Believes in Angels?), Andrew Ross (saxophone) and Graeme Flowers (trumpet).
In between songs, Elton and Brandi sit down with close friend and host Dan Levy (multi-hyphenate Emmy Award-winning creator, best known for his work on record-breaking show Schitt’s Creek) in an intimate conversation that pulls back the curtain on their 20-year friendship, the journey behind their latest collaboration and footage from their musical process.
