Programme overview
Description
Billed as her ‘most elaborate staged concert to date’, the multifaceted Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk performs a spellbinding live show based around her 2017 album Utopia.
Designed as a digital art installation with a 360 degree sound system that immerses fans in ‘a sensory techno-acoustic utopia’, it’s an electrifying experience; one that is underscored by a poignant socio-political message about the need for climate change. A fantastical, fungi-inspired set design, wild floral and aquatic visuals and jaw-dropping costumes designed by Balmain are the backdrop to her unique voice, as she performs songs including Mouth’s Cradle, Sue Me, Isobel and Venus as a Boy. The set also includes two songs, Ovule and Atopos, performed live for the first time.
Accompanied at times by a choir, and at others performing inside a vocal chamber to recreate the privacy in which she composes her songs, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience: intimate, urgent and explosive.
