Description
Carly Simon is one of the most influential singer-songwriters of her generation. The album that made her a global star was 1972's No Secrets, a work which included the classic song You're So Vain.
In this documentary, Carly and her key collaborators lift the lid on the creative process behind the musical masterpiece that is No Secrets. No Secrets was Carly's commercial breakthrough. It spent five weeks at number one in the US chart and quickly went Gold. No Secrets was certified Platinum in late 1997. On this album Carly perfected her own unique style, an intimate and confessional form of song that spoke to a generation and especially young women wrestling with the opportunities and challenges thrown up during the huge changes of the 1960s.
The exclusive interview with Carly in the film is one of her most intimate, tying together her life and work on No Secrets. She is always honest, and sometimes defiant, but with a wit and wisdom that comes from having lived such a rich and turbulent life.
