Puerto Rican musician, singer, composer and 9-time Grammy Winner José Feliciano is a name synonymous with music. Over 55 years, he’s been an international presence that has influenced popular music for two generations and bridged musical styles in a way that has never been equalled. From his rendition of The Doors’ Light My Fire, his explosive rendition of Star Spangled Banner and the celebrated Christmas single Feliz Navidad, José opened the doors for Latin artists to cross over into the mainstream and play a key part in music worldwide.
This film follows José as he returns to his hometown and a triumphant concert in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Criss-crossing the country interviewing family, friends, celebrities and José himself, the film tells the story of a man who not only climbed the mountain of super-stardom but defied the odds by simply making it to his first birthday.
