Programme overview

Description

Equal parts Led Zeppelin, Cream and King Crimson, Rush burst out of Canada in the early 1970s with one of the most powerful and bombastic sounds of the decade. For the next four decades, they were widely seen as one of the most prolific prog rock bands ever, clocking up sales of more than 40 million records worldwide before finally retiring after their last large-scale tour, R40 in 2015.

This documentary chronicles that final tour, offering an intimate ‘under the hood’ view of a historic moment from the perspective of the band, their fans, crew and management. Narrated by actor Paul Rudd, it features extensive interviews with band members Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, as well as contributions from contemporaries and admirers including Gene Simmons, Chad Smith and Taylor Hawkins.
