Description
Since 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has been an essential event in the music calendar, playing host to scores of singers across jazz, blues, soul and more. A companion to the successful album series, The Montreux Years, this series captures legendary performances from artists who have appeared at the festival numerous times, each episode shining the spotlight on one star to bring together their finest moments alongside rare and unseen footage.
This first season sees highlights from Nina Simone’s four unforgettable sets across four decades; all three festival performances from the legendary Muddy Waters, and segments from Etta James’ dazzling performances between 1977 and 1993.
