From restored rarities to world premiere performances, Mercury’s catalogue offers genre-defining moments from some of the most celebrated artists of the past 70 years.
Will White, SVP Content Sales at Mercury Studios said: “Music storytelling has never felt more vital, whether it’s a global farewell for a legend, a quiet rediscovery from the archive, or the rise of a new voice breaking boundaries. At Mercury, we’re proud to champion the power of performance in all its forms. This slate brings together the scale, soul and surprise that define great music television and we’re thrilled to be sharing it with the world at MIPCOM.”
FAST Channel Growth & AVOD Strategy
Following the 2023 launch of its first FAST channel, GIGS, in the UK, Mercury has rapidly expanded its presence in the free ad-supported TV space. December 2024 saw the US debut of the Def Jam FAST channel on Tubi: the platform’s first-ever dedicated music channel.
By building long-term partnerships with global FAST and AVOD platforms, Mercury is helping shape the future of music-first streaming. From genre-specific channels (Country, Rock, Cool Summer) to high-impact AVOD drops, Mercury is establishing dedicated verticals that deepen platform engagement while bringing UMG’s iconic catalogue to new audiences.
Dan Borrelli, SVP Digital Content at Mercury Studios added: “We didn’t just want to participate in the FAST space, we wanted to help shape it. Our ambition with Mercury’s FAST channels is to create destinations for fans that feel curated. From Def Jam to Cool Summer, we’re building channels that honour the culture, identities, and storytelling behind the music. It’s about crafting spaces where fans feel seen, where platforms grow their music offering with purpose, and where our content continues to reach audiences in fresh, meaningful ways.”
This multiplatform strategy underpins Mercury’s evolution from premium content creator to platform builder, redefining the future of music television across streaming, live events, and emerging formats.
